PRINCIPAL REPORT
Dear Families,
I am so happy to be back after my long service leave! I had an amazing time catching up with family, my son's wedding and some travel. A huge thank you to Ms. Steph Fang for acting as principal in my absence—she did a fantastic job leading the school community, and I’m grateful for her dedication. Thanks also to all the staff for their support of Steph, leadership, students and each other.
Nala
I am very excited to welcome our newest member of Robinvale College. Nala our new school dog is very busy learning how to be the very best dog ever! She's already learnt to sit, lay down, go to her bed and calm before she's patted. What a clever girl.
Prep Transition 2025
It has been great to see our new Preps for 2025 as they begin their Prep Familiarisation sessions. These are exciting times for our new students, and it has been wonderful to see all of the siblings joining us for next year along with our new families. As we approach the end of the year, there are many exciting events to look forward to. Here are just a few of the highlights:
**Valedictory Dinner** – We look forward to celebrating our graduating students and their accomplishments. This is a wonderful evening for families and staff to honour our seniors and wish them well in their future endeavours.
**Grade 6 Graduation** – Our Grade 6 students will be graduating soon, and we are so proud of all they have achieved! This milestone marks the end of their primary years and a big step towards high school.
**$20 Boss Program** – This program has been a fantastic experience for our students, who have been developing entrepreneurial skills and learning about teamwork and business basics. We can’t wait to see their final projects!
**Activities Week** – With a range of engaging activities planned, Activities Week is a great opportunity for students to explore new interests and have some fun before the year wraps up.
Planning 2025
Looking ahead, we are already planning for 2025, and part of that involves organizing class lists and grade placements. If your child will not be returning next year, please let us know as soon as possible so we can plan accordingly. Additionally, if you know of any new families joining our community, please encourage them to reach out to us so we can help make their transition smooth.
Social Media Safety
Parents/Carers play an important role in supporting their children to be safe online and on social media. You can help your children safely navigate their digital world and educate them to avoid harmful online experiences. You can explore websites, games, apps and social media together and set some rules and boundaries.
Your support and guidance can give your children the knowledge to make sound decisions online and confidence to ask for help when they need it. It is also important to stay informed about online safety.
The Department of Education recognises this important issue and has developed fact sheets about supports to help keep students safe online and what to do if they are involved in an online incident.
The fact sheets contain links to evidence-based information on supporting positive and safe online experiences, signs a child or young person might need support, what to do if something unsafe happens online, and where to reach out to for more support.
To access the fact sheets, refer to the Safe Socials webpage. The fact sheets are available in 19 community languages. If you have any queries about this information, you can contact the department via email:bullystppoers@education.vic.gov.au
Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership. Let’s make these last weeks of the year memorable and full of learning and celebration!
Warm regards, Lyn Coulter
