Principal's Message
We’ve had another busy two weeks at the College. This has included the Year 12 last day and assembly, 5/6 students attending the SuniTafe for a learning through lunch excursion and the Debutante Ball. Thank you to all the staff and community members who made these events possible. We have also commenced our transition programs with next year’s Foundation students visiting on Tuesdays and visits from new students joining us from other school for years 7 and 9 in 2023. If you are aware of any other families wishing to enrol students in the College for 2023, please ask them to contact the College for more information. The Year 12 VCE students commenced their exams on Wednesday. We wish them all the best of luck. Thank you for your ongoing support of the College.
Kind Regards,
Stephanie Shanahan
Acting Principal
Year 12 Celebrations
Year 12’s celebrated their final day with a whole school assembly and morning tea with their teachers and parents. Students have now completed their study week as the exams commenced on Wednesday 26th October. We wish every single Year 12 student the very best for their exams and final days of school. The Year 12 will also come together with their families and staff for their Valedictory Dinner in November.
Some of the Year 12 students Miss Purcell had the privilege to work with in various teaching roles over the last 13 years 2010-2022 including Bevan, Tanah and Simeon who completed 13 years at Robinvale College and Frank and Asi who joined in later years.

Year 12 Exams
Students have begun their exams this Wednesday at the Robinvale Football Rooms, with English the first exam. Year 11 students sitting Units 3/4 subjects will also be sitting exams durning the exam period.
VCAL Family Lunch
Foundation VCAL students have been enjoying practicing their social skills every Tuesday with a traditional ‘family lunch’. They have also been practicing their oracy for practical purposes, and building up their confidence in making large orders over the phone. Yesterday’s family lunch was particularly special, as it was the last one for our year 12s. It was beautiful seeing the effort the rest of the class put in to make this day special.
5/6 Procedural Writing
The 5/6 classes are currently doing procedural writing as their Writing focus. 5/6B were lucky enough to see scones being made for a procedural task. Miss Rosa made a film of herself making her famous scones. Miss Rosa talked about the aim of the activity, the equipment and ingredients that would be used and then gave step by step instructions on how to make the scones. The students enjoyed seeing a live procedure taking place. At the end of the session all of the students were given a chance to taste Miss Rosa’s famous scones, with some jam and whipped cream. The session was enjoyed by all and 5/6B would like to thank Miss Rosa for making her informative video and sharing the delicious scones with them.
Learning through lunch
On Thursday the 20th of October year 5 and 6 students enjoyed an excursion to Sunitafe in Mildura. The students were shown around the tafe and enjoyed a lunch supplied by the hospitality department. During lunch they listened to guest speakers from Mildura city council talking about their education and employment journeys. 5/6 students have been involved in a program called Learning through lunch, which is sponsored by ARDOCH an organisation that focuses on realising children’s potential through education.
Year 4 Technology
Year 4 students in Miss Purcell’s class have been working hard on practicing their typing skills. The whole class was engaged and thoroughly enjoyed their lesson.

Thank-you – Dean & Alison Mitchell
Earlier this year, Dean and Alison Mitchell, DA Mitchell Pty Ltd (Robinvale Bridge Motel) contacted the College wanting to recognize students’ efforts of resilience and persistence in their learning following two years of Covid-19.
Dean and Alison were very keen to provide a donation of educational supplies, providing two students with a goodies bag containing a back pack, pencil case, pens, pencils, exercise books, etc.
Two worthy students were chosen by staff – Tonga Hafoka and Lisita Talasinga. Both Tonga and Lisita have demonstrated dedication and commitment to Robinvale College, especially the student Tonga and Lisita, would like to say ‘thank-you’ to Dean and Alison for their support, it is very much appreciated.
