Wellbeing and self-care:
With the added stressor of the current weather conditions and the uncertainty they bring, it is important to acknowledge the possible impact on both our, and our childrens’ wellbeing. Many of us will already have been, or have family and friends, impacted by flooding. This might include damage to homes, being unable to attend family events, travel to see loved ones, unable to attend work or general anxiety about the situation. This, in itself, can be traumatic however, in the context of coming out of Covid where many of us experienced similar challenges, the possible impact of the current situation on our wellbeing can not be dismissed lightly. Please be mindful of this for yourself and those around you. Reach out if you are struggling. This might include sleep disturbance, feeling unusually emotional or reactive, difficulty concentrating or generally feeling overwhelmed. online/ phone help services are available

It was great to see parents and friends celebrating with the students the end of 13 years of schooling.

Year 10 Lawn Bowls
Before I begin I would like to thank Euston Bowling Club for hosting myself and the Year 10 elective students during the start of term 4 practical classes. A big shout out goes out to Tony Scott, President of the Euston Bowling Club who was very accommodating with giving us an opportunity to go lawn bowling, his son Glenn who is the greenskeeper of the Euston Bowling Club and who was our mentor and lawn bowling expert.Glenn showed the students all there is to know about lawn bowls, Vibol from Clontarf was extra support person on our Monday ventures. Without all these people, activities like this can’t happen so a big thankyou to you all.
Attending the Euston Bowling Club during our Monday practical sessions, students performed and developed their lawn bowls skills in small groups and modified competitive game situations. They were able to learn to correctly place the mat, roll the jack judging its line & length to either play a short or long end. Students were also shown how to bowl a forehand & backhand bowl and how to score. However due to the inclement weather on our last Monday we were unable to attend our final session. Hence the reason I have no photos of the students strutting the stuff on the Euston Bowling Green. All students enjoyed themselves and the sportsmanship and team competitiveness was a joy to witness.

5/6 Doxa City Melbourne Camp
The 5/6 student are enjoying their camp in Melbourne with walks through the city laneways and visiting the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre.
Attending the Arts Centre and creating some awesome sounds with a DJ. they then moved onto the Melbourne Museum and ice skating.
On day 3 of Camp the students visited the Melbourne State Library, which included seeing Ned Kelly’s armour, boot & gun. Students then went to the Zoo - they saw a baby elephant which was only 1 week old and then finished the day with a night walk around South Bank.
On Thursday the students enjoyed another fun day of activities with tours of the MCG, Shrine of remembrance and a Melbourne River Cruise. After dinner the student headed down to Eureka Skydeck.
On Friday, they will have the opportunity to wander and browse through the Queen Victoria Market before returning home.
F-1 Integrted Studies
As part of our Integrated Studies unit, F/1 students have been exploring all the different ways things can move. This has involved a lot of predicting, experimenting and loads of fun. This week, students experimented with things that can bounce (and those that can't!). They decorated their own egg and then had to make a choice - 'Bounce or Soak?'. Students who chose 'Bounce' had to see if their egg could bounce on the table today. As you can see from the photos, there were a lot of laughs (and a lot of mess!) as students checked their predictions. The students who chose 'Soak' have put their eggs in a jar of vinegar, and they will get to see if their egg will bounce in a couple of days
Community Garden
Our parents and friends enjoyed some weeding, harvesting and some planting in the Community Garden over the past week. If you’re interested in joining us in the community garden, please contact Akesa at the college or send us a message on Facebook. We’d love to see you there!

Golf Club Scholarship Chef Thanong
Last year Chef Thanong was one of three lucky students to be awarded a Robinvale Golf Club ‘VET’ Scholarship, valued at $1,500. These scholarship were awarded to students entering Year 10 or Year 11 in 2022 and who had enrolled to undertake a VET course in Hospitality.
To assist Chef in his studies, he recently purchased a Laptop with some of the scholarship money he was awarded.
Chef is pictured below with his laptop. Chef, along with the Robinvale College, would like to thank the Robinvale Golf Club for their support to our students in providing these VET Scholarships to assist our students with their course studies. Thank-you!
