PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

Principal’s Report
Welcome to all our students, families and friends,
It is unbelievable to think that next week, we only have 3 weeks to complete our school year. I am sure many families will be busy at this stage of the year, organising for the Christmas break. We have some important events in the upcoming weeks, and we encourage you to regularly check the school calendar to see the events. I am delighted to let everyone know that I will be continuing as your principal for 2025. This year has certainly been a wonderful experience as I have learned about the fantastic Robinvale Community and developed connections with staff, students, families and the wider Community. I look forward to continuing this in the new year.
Making the Most of the End of Year
With only a few weeks of the 2024 academic year remaining, the college's leadership team is very much focused on recognising the successes of 2024 and organising for next year. We have been working on the 2025 calendar, looking at staffing, organising projects for the school holidays, and preparing events in anticipation of another exciting year ahead.
Orientation Day - Tuesday 3rd of December
Our whole school will be transitioning up to their new class on Tuesday 3rd of December. This will be a whole day transition day. It is always an exciting day for many students finding out information about the following year. A note has been put on compass with further information.
Staffing
I would like to give a very big welcome back to Nikki and Noelene. Our students and staff have missed you both very much and are delighted to have you back at school. Michelle Griffiths has also joined our staff, and I know she has already made a big impact in the classes she has been taking. Michelle is a fantastic teacher who will be a great asset to our school.

Valedictory Dinner
Last Friday night I had the pleasure and honour of attending the Valedictory Dinner for our 2024 VCE graduates. It was a wonderful evening celebrating the culmination of 13 years of learning. These young adults are a credit to themselves, their family and our school. I wish them every success in their future endeavours and will love to hear where life takes them.

Clontarf Achievement Night
The achievement for our Clontarf boys was such a great celebration. Ioan did a fantastic job as MC for the night which ended with a great social BBQ cooked by the Sedgmen Family (Thanks so much for your support). Congratulations to all the boys who received awards and for the great family support.
Swimming Program
The primary swimming program began on Wednesday with our children having a great time learning to swim or improving their skills. Water safety is such an essential skill, and we are very lucky to have the facilities at our college to ensure that we give our students the best start in swimming.

$20 Boss Night Market
Wednesday night was our $20 Boss Night Market. Our students from year 7 to year 10 did a great job on the night and preparing during the day. Lots of work and effort was put into the day by the students as well as the staff. Congratulations to them all.

Start Up Interviews 2025 Foundation Students
Next year we will be holding Start up Interviews for our Foundation students on the first three days of school from Wednesday 29th of January to Friday the 31st of January. This will be a 10 minute ‘get to know you’ session with your child’s new teacher and then approximately an hour one on one with the teacher and your child to build an understanding of your child’s knowledge and strengths. This is a great start to our schooling year in which we can begin building our parent and school partnerships for the new year. Over these three days your child will only attend school for their interview. All Foundation students will commence full days on Monday the 3rd of February.
Let Us Know If You Are Moving
If your child/children will not be attending Robinvale College in 2025, please let us know now, as this information is crucial for planning.

VALEDICTORY DINNER 2024
The Robinvale Golf Club set the stage for this year’s Robinvale College Year 12 Valedictory Dinner on the evening of Friday, November 22nd. The event marked the culmination of thirteen years of dedicated schooling for five students, who were joined family members, teaching staff and friends to commemorate this significant achievement. The atmosphere at the Robinvale Golf Club was one of joy and accomplishment as the students officially completed their academic journey. Surrounded by their loved ones, the graduates revelled in the sense of accomplishment that comes with reaching such a milestone. The Valedictory Dinner was a reminder of the hard work, perseverance, and support that contributed to the success of these students. As the students embark on new chapters in their lives, the dinner stood as a testament to the close-knit community that supported them throughout their educational journey. Amy and the staff of the Robinvale Golf Club provided the perfect backdrop for an evening of reflection, celebration, and the making of lasting memories. The Floral arrangements were from Fiona Shawcross (Posieon8). The celebration cake from Nooy’s Bakery which was extra special as their daughter was one of the graduates, Connie Chirchiglia took the photos and an extra special presentation by Christina and Salote -a traditional Tongan dance which was enjoyed by all. $20 BOSS MARKET NIGHT
The Boss Market night was held on Wednesday night. With over 20 stalls on the evening students from Year 7-10 were busy with the Year 11 Student helping out during the day and on the night.
During this term, the Year 7 to 10 students embarked on a journey to learn all there is to know about entrepreneurship. They had to come up with a viable business idea for Market Day, and create a presentation detailing their business plan, which they then had to pitch to their teachers. Each student got a $20 start-up investment, which they needed to repay after the Market Day. The next step was to design a logo and a slogan, as well as flyers and posters that they used to advertise their business. Students learned about traditional, as well as more contemporary, marketing methods. They drew up budgets, made ingredients lists, sourced materials and equipment, and worked really hard to bring their business ideas to life.
And then came Market Day, though the sky was a little cloudy and rain by 4:00pm the sun was shining and a fun night was had by all. Music was playing, and stalls were buzzing with community members, friends and family supporting our students. There was something for everyone- Special Thanks to Local Robinvale Business who donated to the event Creeping Fig, Auto Pro, REBA, Robinvale Betta and Nooy's Bakery. A huge congratulations to every single student who participated in this project- you’ve certainly done Robinvale College proud!
