PRINCIPAL REPORT
Dear families,
What a lovely welcome I received returning after my holiday. The Robinvale school is such a warm and inclusive community. It’s been delightful to see our students reconnecting with friends and bringing a positive energy into the school. The start of Term 2 has already been filled with excitement, enthusiasm, and a strong sense of community and I look forward to seeing everyone working hard, having fun and participating fully in all the opportunities happening this term.
As we step into another important term of learning, growth, and opportunity, we’re looking forward to continuing our work together to support every student to succeed.
Supporting Your Child at Home with Their Learning in Term 2
As we begin Term 2, it’s important to revisit and reinforce the high expectations we hold at Robinvale College. Setting this tone early helps students focus, motivates staff, and builds a strong partnership between home and school.
When families and schools work together, students thrive. That’s why we value clear communication and shared goals between parents, carers and educators. By understanding what your child is learning and finding ways to connect with it at home, you’re actively supporting their success.
What can you do?
Expect and support your child to be at school and on time every day. Regular attendance at school means your child can keep up with their learning and feel connected to school and their peers.
Talk about learning at home – Bring up opportunities to hear what your child is working on in their grade or subjects.
Encourage participation – Ask your child about what’s happening at school and how they can get involved in activities or events.
Support with Homework for our senior students - Homework is a great way to support additional practise of learning and in the senior years to set good study habits and maximise your student’s final results.
Every conversation and small action at home adds up and helps your child feel confident, connected and engaged in their learning.
Congratulations to everyone who participated in the cross-country on Tuesday. I was so impressed to see the number of students really pushing themselves to finish the course and achieve their personal best results. Well done to our age champions and all the best to everyone competing at the next stage.
I am always so proud when our students are out representing our school and community. Congratulations to all our students who travelled to Melbourne for the Carers Expo, you are fine ambassadors for Robinvale College.
VALE MRS MERLIN
Mrs. Merlin was a highly respected member of the community, but also known for her unwavering dedication to the students at the College. She regularly volunteered her time to listen to students read and participated in Religious Education classes. Many students also remember her fondly from their preschool years, where she would read to them with warmth and care. The College extends its deepest condolences to the Merlin family during this time.

ANZAC DAY COLLEGE ASSEMBLY
ANZAC Day, observed on April 25th each year, holds deep significance for Australians and New Zealanders as a time to remember and honour the service and sacrifice of all who have served in wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations. It marks the anniversary of the 1915 Gallipoli landing, where the ANZACs—Australian and New Zealand Army Corps—fought bravely under harsh conditions. The day is commemorated with dawn services, marches, and memorial ceremonies across both nations, bringing communities together in a shared act of remembrance. One of the most powerful moments of ANZAC Day is the minute of silence, during which we pause to reflect on the courage, resilience, and loss endured by service members and their families. This silence is a symbol of respect and gratitude, allowing us to connect with the past and reaffirm our commitment to remembering those who gave so much for the freedoms we enjoy today.

COLLEGE REPRESENTED AT THE ANZAC SERVICE
The college was proudly represented at the ANZAC Day services held in Robinvale and Euston. Kaili Hafoka performed the bugle alongside Siosiua at the ceremonies throughout the day, while the school captains participated in the marches and respectfully laid wreaths on behalf of the college. The College Community Brass Band contributed to the commemorations by performing at the 10:00 am service. On the preceding Thursday evening, our Junior Captains Jed Macintosh and Austin Smith supported the RSL by assisting with the placement of crosses.

WELCOME MICHAEL MUSCAT
Mike recently moved from Melbourne to join Robinvale College after hearing about a teaching vacancy from a friend. With a Master's in Education and experience in a variety of schools, Mike is now teaching English and Literacy intervention. Mike loved Robinvale the moment he drove into town. His mum's side of the family were farmers, so it was like stepping back into Mike's childhood. Mike is looking forward to getting to know people in the community and becoming a part of it!
