PRINCIPAL REPORT
Dear parents and friends Robinvale College
Last week I was lucky enough to visit several of our students at their Work Experience placements. I was so proud to hear the glowing reports from their employers. Every single one of our students conducted themselves in a manner to bring pride to our school, their families and importantly themselves. Well done year 10 students!
Parent Teacher Interviews June 10th
Bookings will open soon for parent teacher interviews. I encourage all parents/carers to come and meet with our teachers. The Interviews will be held between 11:30am and 6:30pm. It is expected that your child attends the interview as well.
Please note this is a pupil free day.
State School Education
Robinvale College is a great school. When I advocate for our school, speak to colleagues, families, staff or prospective students I am continually celebrating the work that is happening every day in our dynamic and diverse school. Quite rightfully, the questions are often around what are the benefits and advantages that going to your local school brings to your child.
Sometimes there is pressure or the perception that a child needs to go to a school away from their community to ‘get ahead’ but your local government school at Robinvale College anchors your child in the community and offers holistic learning with a huge range of educational and social opportunities in a supportive environment. A sense of belonging, connection and family’s valuing learning is the biggest indicator of student achievement and completion of year 12. State Schools are Great Schools!
Foundation Enrolments 2026
This year we will be changing our enrolment process, information nights and transition sessions.
Our Foundation Information Night will be held on the 6th of August. However, if you would like a tour of the school with the principal or member of the leadership team an appointment can be made through the office on any Tuesday or Thursday.
State-wide Principals’ Conference
Next week I will be attending the statewide Victorian Principal conference. This conference is the chance for networking and shared learning including keynote presentations from the Minister for Education, Hon. Ben Carroll, Deputy Secretary, David Howes and Dr Jenny Donovan (Australian Education Research Organisation). Over the next weeks I will be sharing information to staff and the community.
Punctuality – Late arrivals
Equally important as attendance at school for academic success is also being at school on time. There has been a significant increase in the number of students arriving at school after 8:45. This causes disruptions for the classroom teachers and other students. It can also be embarrassing for the students who are consistently late. Please ensure that your child(ren) is at school on time. A good time to aim for is 8:40am.

YEAR 10 WORK EXPERIENCE
A Resounding Success!
From Monday 19th May to Friday 23rd May, 23 of our Year 10 students participated in a week-long Work Experience program across Robinvale and Mildura. This opportunity gave our students valuable insight into the world of work, allowing them to explore different career pathways and develop essential workplace skills.
The feedback from employers has been overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the students for their enthusiasm, professionalism, and willingness to learn. It’s clear that our students made the most of this real-life work opportunity and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the businesses and organisations who generously supported our program. Your involvement plays a vital role in shaping the future of our students, and we are truly grateful for your partnership.

DR HUBBLE’S BUBBLES
Bubble-tastic Fun with Dr Hubble!
Our Foundation to Year 6 students had a fantastic time at Dr Hubble’s Bubble Show today! The performance was full of awe and laughter as students watched giant bubbles float, twist, and pop in spectacular fashion. A special highlight—Lily from Year 1/2 was lucky enough to be chosen to stand inside a bubble! What an unforgettable experience!
Thank you, Dr Hubble, for bringing science and fun together in such an exciting way!

SWEET COLLABORATION ACROSS YEAR LEVELS!🍭🎉
As part of their Work-Related Skills studies, our VCE Vocational Major students recently led a fun and engaging activity with our younger learners. They teamed up with the Grade 1/2 students to make delicious chocolate balls, and worked with our Foundation students to create colourful and tasty cake pops!
It was a fantastic opportunity for our senior students to develop leadership and teamwork skills, while the younger students loved the hands-on experience and the sweet treats they got to enjoy. A wonderful example of cross-age learning and community spirit in action!

ASTHMA HEALTH
With the current dry spell in the Mallee, we are expected to see more dust storms like the dust storm we experienced this week. Dust storms can significantly impact individuals with asthma therefore asthma sufferers need to take extra precautions:
*Stay indoors with windows, doors and air vents closed
*Stay in air-conditioned premises, if possible If you have an air conditioner switch it to “recycle” or “recirculate” to reduce the amount of dust entering your home
*Take preventer medication, as directed
*Avoid vigorous exercise outdoors
*Follow your personal asthma action plan.
